Strawberries in the U.S.

Strawberries are grown in many states, but in terms of quantity California is far and away the leader.  Florida is second, then come a smattering of other states: Oregon, Washington, New York, North Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.  These are the states that contributed at least 2% of the total strawberry production.  At one time strawberries were a major crop in other states like Arkansas and Missouri, but factors like labor, transportation, and disease pressure moved the major production westward.  See the map below to see where your state ranks:
